Work Experience

NSF Fellow at Ft. Sam Houston Air Force Research Lab (Summer 2017)
PI: Dr. Jeffrey Wigle, San Antonio, TX
Investigated the mechanisms behind low level laser therapy (LLLT) or photobiomodulation. Used fluorescence and absorbance based assays to track pathways following low level laser exposure. This research was supported by the NSF Improving Graduate Student Preparedness for the Chemistry Workforce Fellowship.

Undergraduate Research Experience (2013-2014)
PI: Dr. Stephen Boyes, Colorado School of Mines
Synthesized, tested and characterized RAFT agents and pH sensitive polymers to be attached to Gd nanoparticles for use as contrast agents in MRIs for cancerous tumor detection.

PREP Research Fellow at National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) (2012-2014)
Reviewed submitted manuscripts from four major thermodynamic science journals. Data was compared to previous data stored in the NIST database using Guided Data Capture (GDC) and Thermo Data Engine (TDE). Older data from scientific journals was reviewed to reassess previously captured data in order to keep the NIST database up to date.
